The Patient's Guide
to Cellulite Treatment

Cellulite: Common and Unwanted

It is extremely common, especially among women. It is the dimpled, wavy, unsightly appearance of fat cells just beneath the surface of our skin. Thin and heavy people alike are susceptible to cellulite. You don't have to be overweight to have it. It is most common around the lower limbs, abdomen, and pelvic area of the body. Its causes are not entirely understood, however hormones, skin thickness, and physiology are thought to be major factors in the development.

Treating Cellulite

Treatment of cellulite is something researchers have been working on for many years. This research has produced a number of breakthroughs in our understanding of cellulite. New treatments are constantly being evaluated for their effectiveness. From radiofrequency devices, lasers, cooling and heating devices, pharmacological agents, and mechanical methods, we are constantly reviewing and evaluating the latest developments in the field of cellulite treatment.

The Patient's GuideĀ®

Our mission is to provide the public an informative, authoritative, and credible resource for understanding cellulite and its treatment. There are so many products and devices which claim to "improve" or "treat" cellulite it is very difficult to know what is truly helpful. As a Patient's GuideĀ® website, we are committed to the highest standards of medical accuracy and review. Please do note that no website, advertising, or word of mouth can replace the consultation with an expert physician and before making any decision on treatment, it is advisable to speak to your doctor first.
